Clay Ovens

Providing facilities for hot foot for visitors has been a challenge down the years, and, starting at Almeley, we have adopted Clay Ovens as a really fuel-efficient way of heating water and cooking food. The most recent oven was made and used in 2012 and also reused in 2013, providing yet another great opportunity for people to work together. A feature of clay ovens is that they need maintenance each year to patch up cracks and other damage, but like many other mature things, become all the more beautiful for it, as can be seen below.
