Anita Sancha is a wonderfully off-beat maker of animations and short movies on green and social themes, based in Hereford. “I believe in a green sustainable future world, where community matters. My animations and short films are often worked within schools, as well as shown during environmental talks, festivals and workshops”. Her outfit, Pea Shoot Media, also work with commercial partners for graphic design, training and web material.
Berwyn Powell is a local photographer and long time friend of Spring Greens who takes images of landscapes and all things natural. His website, Hall of the Hæry One contains all manner of weirdness from pinhole cameras to digital illustrations.

Meet our good old friends: HEED THE THUNDER “folk music of depth, gothic wonder and no small amount of mysticism. This is heartfelt music wrapped in stripped-back but perfectly judged instrumentation”. There is some great stuff on their web site, and they are even better live
Those other Spring Greens regulars THE BOY AND THE FLATPACK BAND have been described as a bit Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah Band meets the Kinks at a Bulgarian Wedding… Hard-working, safety-conscious, movers and shakers, staffed by some of our own Spring Greens regulars, and led by a poetic tree surgeon. They really must be seen to be believed. What’s not to like?
Spring Greens supporter, mezzo soprano and singing teacher ROBIN HENDRIX, joined us in 2014 with her pianist husband Michel Prezman, and shared a fascinating presentation of her techniques with our members and visitors. She could teach a door knob to sing! She also sang a selection of folk songs, together with inspiring sea poetry set to music. Robin lives and works at “Centre pour le Formation de la Voix”, in Serdinya, Southern France. Hear her singing an anthem for Spring Greens, Purcell’s arrangement of “Flora’s Holiday” from our Entertainments page.
Music, Green fair, great local food and beer, in a chilled out, family friendly , rural setting. Sound familiar? The themes are the same, but maybe the order a little bit different. No, it’s not Herefordshire’s Spring Greens Fair every May – it’s Yorkshire’s CORNUCOPIA FESTIVAL in September.
What can we say about CAUGHT BY THE RIVER, but that it is vaguely watery (as per our theme for 2014) equally strange and familiar, and a fantastic site to explore? You can start messing about there now (apologies to JOSH MACRAE).
The GREEN GATHERING near Chepstow, brings together people involved in Green campaigns in Somerset, Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean, Gwent, Powys, and our very own beautiful Herefordshire.
